puppy love + port alberni

If you have ever had a dog, you will know that their love is completely unconditional. You can accidentally step on their tail, and they will love you. You can take them for a 5 minute walk or a day long hike in the forest, and they will love you the same. They will love you even when it is obvious they are embarrassed to wear a santa hat at Christmas. They love your stinky shoes. They will always greet you with a big smile and a waging tail. And you can forget your terrible day at work while you stroke your hand over the softest spot between their ears.

But the fur around their nose and eyes turns white and they start to need a little bit of help getting in and out of the truck. You realize your best friend is aging faster than you are.

I was so incredibly touched when I was contacted to photograph a couple and their dogs. They wanted to capture this time in their lives with their dogs at their most favorite place together, “Stamp Falls”. The fresh air and the beauty that surrounded us was amazing, the dogs were so happy and excited and silly. Meagan and Grant were SO much fun and were up for anything. After we dropped off the wet dogs, Meagan, Grant and I went exploring a new location and wow those two and gorgeous together!!!

Thank-you for a truly wonderful day xo
