beach heart + part one {winter mini sessions}

There will be more time tomorrow… next week, or in January.

I have been saying this to myself for as long as I can remember, justifying how full I make my days. And then life reminds me to slow down, to breathe and to actually take time for what truly matters to me. The people who I love.

There is one person who loves me more than anyone else. She knew me before anyone else. She cares for Oliver when my hubby and I work. She makes incredible borscht. She is my mom. There are times when I drop Oliver off at her doorstep in his PJ’s because I’m running behind. Barely a hello. Sometimes we get lunch together… did I mention she makes incredible borscht? And even though she lives in the same small city, I rarely get to spend really good time with her {especially without the distraction of a 3 1/2 year old boy!}

I had my winter mini sessions coming up and joked that she should be my assistant. I did not expect her eyes to light up, her smile to stretch from ear to ear, and her head to nod yes. She actually wanted to come and help. How neat! The day was wonderful! A clear and calm day. Wonderful families. And my mom was AMAZING!!!!!!! She rang the bell to make the little ones smile, had tissues ready for runny noses, and reminded me to drink water. We had time to chat in between families and warmed up with coffee and home made soup at a local cafe. It was just such a nice day.

In between photo sessions, my mom found this heart shaped rock. I almost cried.

Thank-you Mom.
For all that you have done and for all that you do. I love you
